Aerosol Nebulizer

• Sit straight up in a comfortable position while using the nebulizer.
• Breathe slowly through the mouthpiece or mask. The mist should disappear as you inhale. Remember to breathe in slowly and deeply to assure good deposition of medicine into the lungs.
• Slowly exhale through the mouthpiece.
• Approximately every 4th or 5th breath, hold your breath for 2-3 seconds after you inhale. Young children or infants do not need to include this step if unable.
  Continue the above steps until your medication is gone (no mist is being produced). You may need to tap the side of the medication cup to get all of the medicine.
• Rest as often as needed. Just be sure to turn the machine off when resting. Watch for side effects: dizziness, headache, nausea, tingling or numbness, or chest pain. If any of these symptoms appear, stop the treatment and rest for a short time. If the symptoms do not go away, NOTIFY YOUR PHYSICIAN IMMEDIATELY.
