Cleaning Guidelines

General Cleaning

• Wash items in warm water and mild detergent. Rinse items well. Soak items for 20-30 minutes in a solution of 1/2 white vinegar and 1/2 water or use an approved disinfectant solution as per the manufacturer instructions. After soaking, rinse with clean water and allow items to dry on a clean surface. Store items not being used in a clean, dry plastic bag (zipper sandwich bags work well).
• Cleaning Solution Tips: A solution of 50% white vinegar and 50% water creates a good, cost effective disinfectant. We suggest you make enough to submerge the device you are cleaning. Use a clean bowl that has a lid (Tupperware works well). This solution may be used for 2 weeks, however you should change it more frequently if it appears excessively dirty. Follow the instructions on any other commercial disinfectant solution.
• Remember GOOD HAND WASHING is the best way to prevent the spread of infections. Wash your hands before and after handling any medical equipment.

Aerosol Nebulizer Device & Accessories

Machine: Wipe housing with cloth or sponge dampened with water.

Non-Disposable Filter (gray and spongy): Remove cap and filter, wash both with soap and water, rinse with clean water, air dry, replace filter back into cap, place into compressor, clean weekly.

Disposable Filter (white and hard): Examine periodically and replace when dirty and discolored. No routine cleaning suggested.

Nebulizer Kit: Rinse nebulizer cup with warm water after every treatment, once per day wash the nebulizer cup and mouthpiece with a mild detergent, and then soak nebulizer cup in a 50/50 solution (1 cup white vinegar/1 cup water) for 20-30 minutes, rinse with hot water and air dry.
